My name is Keath Butt, and I have been a part of ECC’s staff since 1999 as the Youth Ministries Director. I am from the wonderful state of South Carolina where I grew up most of my life. It was there that I attended Columbia International University and earned my degree in Bible and Youth Ministries. I have been involved in ministering to students for fifteen years in the states of South Carolina, Texas, and presently here in Tennessee.

I was married in June of 1999 to my lovely wife Sara just two weeks before we arrived in Jackson in July of the same year.

Sara also resided in South Carolina and attended CIU earning her degree in Bible and Elementary Education. She is currently taking a break from teaching so that she can raise our beautiful daughters Lynsey, Laurel, and Liya. The girls are blends of their parents – their father’s lively personality and her mother’s incredible smarts. They are a lot of fun and beautiful too!

My first passion is to see students come to know Christ as their personal Saviour and disciple them to spiritual maturity. I am also passionate about being in the outdoors enjoying God’s creation. I love to hunt, play sports, and travel to South Carolina Gamecock away games.

Together we have been called by God to minister to the students of Evangelical Community Church and the Jackson area. Many folks today in Christian circles refer to youth ministry as “The Highest Calling”. I believe that there is some truth to that statement because of the high percentage of God’s children that come to know their Saviour between the ages of 12 and 18. God has called Sara and me to invest in this age group, spurring them on to spiritual maturity, so that they will be able to disciple others when they enter adulthood.
