Statement of Faith

  1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life (Mt. 22:23-32; Mk. 7:8-13; 12:26; Lk. 16:29-31; 24:25-27,44,45; Jn. 5:46; 17:17; Mt. 19:4; Lk. 17:27,29,32; Mt. 24:15; Mk. 12:36; II Tim. 3:16, 17; II Pet. 1:21).
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Jn. 5:32-37: Jn. 10:36; Gal. 4:4; Jn. 14:16,17,26; Jn. 15:26; Gal. 4:6; Mt. 28:18-20; Phil. 2:6; Isa. 48:16, 61:6, 63:9,10).
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man (Mt. 1:18-25; Lk. 1:26-35; Rom. 8:3; I Tim. 3:16; Jn. 1:1-14; 10:30; Mt. 4:2; 8:24, 9:36; 14:23; Jn. 4:6; 11:33,35).
  4. We believe that Man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed (Gen. 1:26; Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10; Gen. 3:1-20; Rom. 5:12-21; II Cor. 11:3; Rom. 3:9-20,23).
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (Mt. 27:45-56; Jn. 3:14,15: Rom. 3:21-31; Eph. 1:7,8: Heb. 2:17; 7:26,27; 9:11-14).
  6. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate (Mk. 16:1-13; Jn. 20:21; Acts 1:1-11; Heb. 4:14-16).
  7. We believe that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will personally return and set up His Kingdom wherein He will rule and reign in righteousness (Acts 1:10, 11; Jn. 14:1-3; Lk. 19:11-27; Rev. 2:5,16; 3:11; 22:7, 12, 20; I Jn. 3:2).
  8. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God (Jn. 1:12; 3:1-8; Rom. 5:1-11, I Cor. 2:12,13; 6:19,20; Eph. 1:13,14; I Jn. 2:20,27). True saving faith includes repentance–a willingness to turn from sin to the true and living God (Acts 20:21; Acts 26:20; Eph. 2:8,9).
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the saved, and the eternal retribution of the lost (Jn. 5:22,28,29; Rev. 20:6,11-15;II Cor. 5:10; I Thes. 4:16; Acts 24:14,15).
  10. We believe in the Church, the living Body of Christ on earth (Mt. 16:18; I Cor. 3:16; 12:12; Eph. 1:22; 4:12; Col. 1:18), created by God the Father, with the Lord Jesus Christ as its head, composed of an elect company of believers who have received Him as Lord and Savior. (John 1:12-13) The Church is people who have been called out of the world to follow Jesus Christ into an intimate relationship with the Father, who are becoming the qualitatively distinct people He wants them to be, and who are doing what He has willed for them to do in the world, bringing Him glory by fulfilling the Great Commission. The Church is designed to be the representation of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit displayed by means of our loving relational connectedness (Jn. 13:35, Acts 2:41-47, Heb. 10:24-25) and by the testimony of His grace in our lives (Mt. 28:19; I Pet. 3:15) to a lost and dying world, “both in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
